The Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies (SCU) is a think tank
of scientists, researchers and professionals stretching across organizations, governments and industries to scientifically and publicly explore anomalous phenomena known around the world as UAPs, UFOs, USOs and OVNIs.
We conduct, promote and encourage the rigorous scientific examination of Unidentified Aerospace Phenomena (UAP), commonly known as Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs). We utilize scientific principles, methodologies and practices in the study of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena observed and reported around the globe.
We provide scientific case analysis to support witness cases, other scientific organizations, and government entities who are looking for the certitude of facts for this phenomenon.

Christopher Mellon

Christopher Mellon spent nearly 20 years in the U.S. Intelligence Community, to include serving as the Minority Staff Director of the Senate Intelligence Committee and the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence. In the Senate he conceived and drafted the legislation establishing the US Special Operations Command in 1986 while working as an aide for US Senator William S. Cohen (R-ME).
He has taught at Georgetown University; authored a number of articles on public policy issues; and received numerous awards including the National Reconnaissance Office Gold Medal; the DIA Director’s Medal, and the Secretary of Defense Public Service Award. Mr. Mellon has also served as the Chairman of the Science Committee at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History.
He earned his B.A. from Colby College and his M.A. from Yale University. Since retiring from federal service Mr. Mellon has been working as a private equity investor engaged in biotech and information technology start-ups. He also appears in the History Channel TV series UNIDENTIFIED, plays a prominent role in the forthcoming movie “The Phenomenon” and is the Chairman of the Advisory Board for To the Stars Academy of Arts and Sciences.

This website aims to raise awareness about the UFO phenomenon, and to show the extent of serious, quality and scientific information and evidence available on the subject.
The website currently includes the following: over 2,000 quality articles, documents and resources organized into over 80 topics; a high-quality Photo Gallery with over 380 UFO photographs to date; and a new Cases Directory with over 440 selected and good-quality cases. Knapp became known nationally in the late 1980s by reporting the story of Bob Lazar, who claimed to have worked on extraterrestrial UFOs at the secretive Area 51. According to Knapp, his discovery of evidence corroborating some of Lazar's claims made his stories on Lazar be taken more seriously than typical UFO fare. In 1990, Knapp's stories on Lazar earned an "Individual Achievement by a Journalist" award from the United Press International. However, to Knapp's "eternal shame," he also during this era publicized the claims of conspiracy theorist Bill Cooper, whom Knapp came to regard as far less credible than Lazar.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Knapp worked with the now-defunct group National Institute of Discovery Science (NIDS). Founded by Las Vegas businessman Robert Bigelow, NIDS was charged with scientifically studying unusual phenomena with scientists and funding. Based on his work with NIDS and biochemist Colm Kelleher, Knapp publicized the so-called Skinwalker Ranch in northeast Utah, where strange events are alleged to have occurred.
